First, we will drive for about an hour from Kathmandu to reach Nagarkot.  We will have our breakfast in the hotel and then prepare for the hike.  Located at the altitude of about 2100 m from the sea level, temperature here will be cold, making it easy to hike throughout the day.  Hike starts with the gradual descend through the fields.  Trail passes through local Tamang village where you will be seeing people doing the daily household activities and farming.  Framing and animal husbandry used to be the main occupation of the people living in this area but during the recent years, young people either move to the city or go abroad for working.  Leaving this aside, we will continue to walk through deciduous forest filled with pines and other species of trees.  It is an easy walk through the forest through plain trails with few easy uphill and downhill walk.  In the distance, you will be able to see mountain ranges and different places of the valley.  In about 5 hours, we will now reach Changunarayan temple.  It is an oldest temple listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.  It is located at the top of the hill surrounded by pine forest.  Inside the temple premises, there are idols of different gods and goddess.  Also, there is a museum where old pictures and arts are displayed.  We will explore around this area after lunch and also we will do some souvenir shopping here.  After that, we will now drive back to Kathmandu ending our day hike to Changunarayan from Nagarkot.
