Considered as one of the popular treks here in Nepal, this Annapurna circuit trek takes you to different part of Annapurna region.  This 20-day trek takes you around beautiful Pokhara city, deserted lands in Manang and Mustang.  Trail will take you to green flat lands to high altitude alpine region.  Annapurna mountain range and beautiful landscapes, monasteries, forest, wildlife, vegetation, glaciers, rivers, and villages can be seen during this trek.  Sherpa, Rai, Limbu, Gurung, Thakali people are the local inhabitant of this region.  We will be able to know their culture and lifestyle.  Gangapurna, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna ranges, and other big and small mountains can be seen during the trek.  We will be crossing a high pass Thorung-La pass (5416 m).  We will use an ancient trade route between Nepal, Tibet, and India.  This Annapurna Circuit Trek gives you a chance to be close to the nature and the people living in this region.

Itinerary

  • Arrival

    Upon arrival, our representative will pick you up at the airport and upon completing airport duties; you will be transferred to the hotel. You will check in at the hotel and freshen up and rest for a while. After a while, if time allows, you will be touring around the Kathmandu city. You will be visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kathmandu Durbar Square. Temple of Taleju Bhawani, Kumari Ghar, Kaal Bhairab, Radha Krishna Temple, and museum are some of the places to see here. We can also do some souvenir shopping around the durbar square area. After exploring around the area, we will now return back to our hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Drive to Besisahar

    Our Annapurna Circuit Trek starts from driving to Besisahar and then to Chame. It is about 180 km away from Kathmandu and it will take about 6 hours to reach there. After breakfast, we will get in a bus to reach Besisahar. We will drive along the Prithivi Highway passing through different markets, villages, and cities. We will stop in between for a short break and then continue to drive to reach Besisahar. It is a small village where people from surrounding places lives and do business. Our free time, we will explore the local market and do some last moment shopping. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Besisahar to Chame

    After breakfast, we will prepare to reach Chame. Road to Chame is mostly off road. So be prepared for bumpy rides all the way to Chame. Road passes through beautiful green hills and forest. In about few hours of drive, we now reach Chame from where our trek starts. Free day, explore around the Chame. Chit chat with the local. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Chame to Humde

    Our trek starts from today from Chame to Humde. It will take about 6 hours to reach Humde. Trail is easy to walk. First hour of walk is a steep uphill, then after that, the trail is flat and easy. Prayer wheels, flags, and chortens can be seen during this walk. We will pass through different villages until Humde. After an easy 6 hours of walk, you will now reach Humde. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Humde to Manang

    Today is a short walk for about 3 to 4 hours. The trail is easy uphill as well as downhill. Stupas, small monasteries, mani, wall, prayer flags and wheels can be seen during the entire walk. In the distance, we will see different mountains as well as hills and forests covered with different vegetation. After about 4 hours of easy walk crossing different villages, we now reach Manang where there are many houses, monasteries, lodges, and guest houses. Mostly, Sherpa, Gurung, Thakali, Rai, people lives here. Free afternoon time exploring the local places, visiting monasteries, and surrounding places. Overnight stay at hotel.

  • Acclimatization in Manang

    Today is the rest day here in Manang. Acclimatization is a must while trekking in high altitude areas to prevent from high altitude sickness. Keeping yourself dehydrated and slow ascend is the key to prevent yourself from altitude sickness. We will hike little up to the nearby place or explore around the village, visiting schools and monasteries whole day. We will even talk with the local people to know about the lifestyle, condition, and the culture of the people living here. Whole day, we will explore around the valley. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Manang to Ledar

    After breakfast, we will leave Manang to reach Ledar. It is a slow and easy ascent up to Ledar. Gradual ascent will take you to Yak Kharka. This place is used as a grazing land for yaks and horses, but most often you will see blue sheep grazing in this area. Trail passes through rocky mountain. In about 4 hours, we will now reach Ledar. Free afternoon, we will explore houses, monasteries around this village. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Ledar to Thorang High Camp

    Today, we will be walking uphill as well as downhill trail to High Camp. First, trail descends down to cross the river and walking along the river bank, the trail again ascends to reach Phedi (4420 m). The trail further ascends up to the 4600 m which is a high camp. There are few guesthouses here where we will be spending our remaining days. Free time exploring around high camp. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Thorang High Camp to Thorang – La Pass / Muktinath

    After breakfast, we will prepare to reach Muktinath – a holy place for both Buddhist and Hindu via Thorang La Pass. It is a gentle uphill walk via rocky trail. It will take about 4 hours of uphill walk to reach the pass. The view from the pass is simply amazing. Surrounding mountains and valley from the top looks beautiful. You will see colored prayer flags and chortens here in the pass. We will spend some time there and continue to descend to reach Muktinath. It is an easy descend through rocky trail. In about 3 hours, we will reach Muktinath. Free time exploring around the area. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Muktinath to Jomsom or Marpha

    After breakfast, we will descend to reach either Jomsom or Marpha village. It is a gradual easy descend. The trail passes through off road tracks. We will pass Kagbeni village. After crossing Kali Gandaki river over the small wooden bridge, we will now reach Jomsom – a beautiful village with lots of hotels, lodges, restaurants and airport. Free time, exploring around the village and apple farm in Marpha. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Trek to Kalapani

    After breakfast, we will trek to reach Kalapani. With beautiful view of Daulagiri, we will pass through different villages on the bank of Kali Gandaki River. We will pass Tukuche village and reach Kalapani village. It will take about 6 hours to reach Kalapani. Free time exploring the surrounding area. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Kalapani to Tatopani (Hot Spring)

    After a steep descend, we will now reach a small village – Lete. We will cross Kali Gandanki river and pass through beautiful Rupse waterfall on the way. We will spend some time here and then continue to walk to reach Tatopani. It is about 7 hours of long walk to reach Tatopani. After checking in the hotel, we will dip in the natural hot water where we will spend some time relaxing. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Tatopani to to Ghorepani

    After few days of easy walk, today’s walk will be uphill walk for few hours through forest and village. Brahman and Magar are the local people living in this area. Trail passes through these villages and after about 5 hours of difficult walk, we will reach Ghorepani. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Ghorepani to Chomrong

    After breakfast, we will prepare for our trek to reach Chomrong. Trail is both uphill as well as downhill passing through different villages, forests, crossing rivers on a suspension bridge, and waterfall. We will see different wildlife and vegetation during this trek. Lush green forest and snowy mountains in the backdrop will accompany your walk. After about 5 hours of walk, we will now reach Chomrong – a beautiful village on the lap of mountain and hills. There are hotels and guesthouses here to stay. Free time exploring the village. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Chomrong to Himalayan

    Today, we will ascend to reach Himalayan. Walk is not so easy and not so hard. We will take a break in places for rest. During the walk and rest, we will see different vegetation and wildlife. Not to mention snow-capped mountains can be seen closing up as we reach near to Himalayan. In about 4 hours, we will now reach Himalayan. We will rest for a while there in our hotel and in the free time, we will be exploring around the village, talking with the local people and know about their culture and lifestyle. We will spend our rest of the time here. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Himalayan to Macchapuchre Base Camp /Annapurna Base Camp

    Today, we will reach Macchapuchre Base Camp and then to Annapurna Base Camp. It is a difficult steep uphill. After breakfast, we will start our trek along the riverside. First, we will reach Macchapuchre Base Camp. Trail up to here is little strenuous, but the view upon reaching the basecamp is worth. We will forget all the pain after seeing the panoramic view of different mountain ranges like Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Gangapurna, Mt. Hiunchuli and other surrounding snowcapped mountains. We will rest here for a while to enjoy the beauty of the nature. After that, we will continue our walk. You will notice the change in thinning of vegetation in this trail up to the Annapurna Base Camp. The trail widens up giving an excellent view of Mt. Annapurna. From here, you will be surrounded by mountains. After few hours of walk from Macchapuchre Base Camp, we will now reach Annapurna Base Camp where we will stay there overnight. You will see colorful prayer flags and stone inscriptions there at the base camp. Free time, exploring the surrounding of the basecamp. There are few hotels and lodges to stay in, so it is good to pre-book your hotel or guesthouse room if you are travelling without a guide. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Sunrise view from Annapurna Base Camp: Trek back to Bamboo

    We will wake up early in the morning to get a glimpse of sunrise. The golden ray of sun striking the mountain is an absolute view. We will spend some time there and get back to our hotel for breakfast and then prepare for descend to reach Bamboo. Today will be the long 8 hour to reach Bamboo. We will take the same route to get back. Trail is mostly downhill and it will not be that hard to descend. The view, the nature is always there to accompany throughout the trek. Trail passes through forests, riverside, and villages. We will be crossing rivers over the suspension as well as wooden bridge and after about 8 hours, we will reach Bamboo. Overnight stay at the lodge.

  • Bamboo to Nayapul. Drive to Pokhara

    Today is the final day of trekking. After breakfast, we will take the downhill trail. It will be an easy descend today. Trail passes through riverbank, villages, and forests filled with different vegetation and wildlife. It will take about 4 hours to reach Nayapul from where we will take a bus to reach Pokhara. It is about an hour drive. Upon reaching Pokhara, we will check in to our room and in the free time, we can either stroll around the lake side or just relax in your comfortable room. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Drive back to Kathmandu. Free time

    After breakfast, we will catch a bus to get back to Kathmandu. It is about 7 hours of drive through Prithvi Highway. If you don’t want to drive back, there is another option of flying to reach Kathmandu. It will be a free time after reaching Kathmandu. You can do some shopping for your friends and families in the free time and also roam around the busy streets of Thamel and local markets nearby. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Departure

    Today is the last day here in Nepal. With lots of good memories and experiences to share with your friends and families, our representative will escort you to the airport to connect to your flight.
