Just imagine being close to one of the tallest mountain in the world Mt. Everest from its base.  This Everest base cam trek will provide you and amazing view of the world’s tallest mountains.  It is guarantee that you will get a full 360 degree view of snow-capped mountains in this trek.  Along with that, you will also get a chance to explore the Khumbu glacier, which is one of the biggest glaciers in Khumbu region also, you will get a chance to know about the lifestyle, culture, and religion of the local people living in this region.  This region is mostly inhibited by Rai and Sherpa community people and follows Buddhism as a main religion.  You will be able to see different monasteries, stone inscriptions, prayer flags, prayer wheels, waterfalls, rivers, different wildlife and vegetation.  You will be entering Sagarmatha National Park, which is a world heritage site where different species of plants and wildlife are well preserved in its natural habitat.  A trekker with a good health and physical fitness can easily complete this 17-day trek, but make sure that you do proper acclimatization while ascending.

Itinerary

  • Arrival

    Upon arrival, out team member will meet and greet you at the Tribhuwan International Airport and upon completion of airport formalities, our representative will escort you to the hotel. Check in at the hotel and in the free time, you will be briefed well by our guide about the trekking. Free time in the afternoon, preparing for the trek. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Fly to Lukla / Trek to Monjo

    After breakfast, we will prepare to take our flight to Lukla. This 30-minute scenic flight will give you a glimpse of different mountain range. Upon reaching Lukla, we will get our bags and prepare to trek to reach Monjo. It is a gradual ascend as well as ascend up to Monjo. We will meet many trekkers on the route here. Today is an easy walk for about 3 hours to reach Monjo. Upon reaching, we will check in at the local teahouse and rest for the day. Overnight stay in Monjo.

  • Monjo to Namche

    After breakfast, we will prepare to trek up to reach Namche. It will take about 5-6 hours to reach Namche. The trail passes through riverbank, different villages and forest with different vegetation. While trekking, you will be able to see different mountains. We will be crossing rivers on a suspension bridges and walk pass Jorsale Village. Just before reaching Namche, we will have to ascend a steep trail and then we reach Namche – a beautiful village located at the lap of different mountains. Overnight stay here at the lodge.

  • Rest day in Namche

    Today is an acclimatization day here in Namche. We will be touring around this beautiful Sherpa valley. There are café, banks, ATMs, restaurants, and local markets here. We will do short hike up where we will get a beautiful view of different mountains like Nuptse, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Kongde, Everest, and many more. We can also visit the local schools as well as monastery today. Overnight stay the lodge.

  • Namche to Tengboche

    After breakfast, we will continue today’s walk to reach to Tengboche. Trail is both uphill as well as downhill, but is an easy walk. Chortens, prayer wheels, prayer flags, and stone inscriptions can be seen throughout the trail. You will also see the caravan of yaks carrying goods while walking. Different vegetation can be seen throughout the trail. After about 4 hours of walk, we will reach Tengboche village in the beautiful mountains. There is a very famous Tengboche monastery in this village where different rituals takes place in different part of the year. This is one of the biggest monastery here in Khumbu region. Overnight stay at the lodge.

  • Tengboche to Dingboche

    After breakfast, we will start our trek to reach Dingboche. We will walk for about 5 to 6 hours today. View of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Everest accompanies our walk. Trail passes through Pangboche village and forest full of different species of rhododendron. We will cross Imja River on a suspension bridge. We will cross Imja valley and the trail ascent to Dingboche. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Visit Chukung / Island Peak Base Camp / Back to Dingboche

    Today, we will be visiting Island base camp via Chukung village. Trail is mostly uphill with the great view of Island Peak and other surrounding mountains. It will take about 6 hours to reach base camp and back to Dingboche. Trail is both uphill as well as downhill, so it is a good idea to hike up slow enjoying the view of the nature. Spending some time around the base camp, we will now return back to Dingboche. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Dingboche to Lobuche

    After breakfast, we will start our day walk to reach Lobuche a small beautiful village with few houses and lodges. The gradual uphill trail passes through Khumbu glacier. The uphill trail crossing Thugla pass is a tiresome pass, so it is good idea to take a short break and hike slowly to reach our destination. Pumori, Ama Dablam, Khumbutse, etc. can be seen while trekking. On the way, you will see different memorial shrines with prayer flags dedicated to the people who lost their lives while ascending the summit. After about 6 hours of walk, we will reach Lobuche, where there are lodges that provides different local as well as some famous international cuisines. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Lobuche to to Gorakhshep to Everest Base Camp, Back to Gorakhshep

    Today is the final day before we come face to face with Everest. With all the excitement to see the Everest, we prepare to trek after breakfast. It is a gentle 4 hours of walk to reach Gorakshep – final point for the people who are visiting Everest Base Camp. It is an easy walk today with less ascending. With the 360-degree view of snow-capped mountains and glaciers in different place, we now reach Gorakshep. The trails are mostly rocky, which makes it little difficult to walk in an uneven surface. Upon reaching Gorakshep, we check in at the local hotel, finish our lunch and then prepare to reach base camp. Trail is mostly plain with some ascend as well as descend. After few hours of walk, we will reach to the base camp. Stunning view of mountains like Nuptse, Khumbutse, Pumori and other surrounding mountains gives a pleasure to the eye. We will spend some time there and then head back to Gorakshep. Overnight stay at hotel.

  • Early morning visit Kalapathar for Sunrise. Trek back to Lobuche

    We will get up early in the morning to get a view of sunrise from the top of Kalapatthar which is about 2 hours of walk from here. We will warm up ourself with a cup of tea or coffee and then prepare to ascend to the top of Kalapatthar which is the highest point. From here, we will get a good view of the valley as well as rays of sun kissing Mt. Everest. After spending some time on the top, we will descend to reach Gorakshep and will finish our breakfast. After then we will trek back to reach Lobuche. We will take the same route back to reach Lobuche. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Lobuche to Tengboche

    Descending is easy than ascending. We do not have to worry about altitude sickness, but we must be careful while descending. Today will be long 8 hours walk to reach Tengboche. We will pass different villages, forests, and riverbanks. We will have our lunch in between our trek. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Tengboche to Monjo

    We will take the same route to reach Monjo. Trails are both uphill as well as downhill passing through different villages like Namche Bazar and Phakding. Trail passes through forests covered with different species of vegetation. It will about 7 hours of walking up hill as well as downhill today. After about 7 hours of walk, we will now reach Monjo.

  • Monjo to Lukla

    Today is the final day trekking. After breakfast, we will begin to walk to reach Lukla. It’s an uphill as well as downhill walk crossing different villages, forests, and river over the suspension bridge. We will walk at a slow pace to reach Lukla today. Upon reaching, we will rest for the remaining time or we will explore market in Lukla and wait for the flight tomorrow to Kathmandu.

  • Fly back to Kathmandu

    After breakfast, we will get to the airport to fly back to Kathmandu. It is about 30-minute of flight. Upon reaching Kathmandu, we will check in our hotel and rest. Afternoon is a free time. You can either rest for the whole time or you can go for sightseeing to the nearby place. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Free time in Kathmandu

    These two days are your free time here in Kathmandu. You can explore some touristic areas here and do some shopping of local handicrafts, spices, pashminas, etc. as a souvenir to your friends and families. You can also explore Thamel, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swyambhunath, Pashupatinath, Baudhanath, etc. if you have time. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Free time in Kathmandu

    These two days are your free time here in Kathmandu. You can explore some touristic areas here and do some shopping of local handicrafts, spices, pashminas, etc. as a souvenir to your friends and families. You can also explore Thamel, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swyambhunath, Pashupatinath, Baudhanath, etc. if you have time. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Departure

    Today is the final day here in Nepal. After breakfast, our representative will escort you to airport to connect with your flight. With lots of memories to be shared with your friends and families, we bid goodbye to you with the hope of seeing you back again for the next amazing trip.
